    less than VND46 million (US$2,190) per tael, falling to two-month low,
    bucking the world market’s upward trend.

    Yesterday morning, the DOJI Group announced a selling price of
    VND46.12 million per tael ($2,196) (one tael is equivalent to 0.5oz)
    then lowering to VND45.95 million ($ 2,188). The Sai Gon Jewellery
    Company (SJC) price reduced VND320,000-440,000 per tael.

  • Naphtha spreads surge to near one month high

    Naphtha's prompt timespreads have been trading in narrow backwardations
    of US$8.25-9.50/ton since the beginning of October because of sliding
    gasoline values in Europe. Meanwhile, naphtha's CFR Japan November swap
    stood US$8/ton higher at US$935. Naphtha's November and December
    East-West (EW) spreads, the differential between Asian and European
    prices, were at US$2 and US$8/ton respectively.

  • New enzyme offers corn-ethanol plants increased yield

    The company has been working on the “very, very significant piece of innovation” for some time, Nielsen told Ethanol Producer Magazine.
    With use of Avantec, a typical 100 MMgy U.S. ethanol plant could go
    from using 900,000 tons of corn a year to 877,500 tons of corn and still
    produce the same amount of ethanol.
