The tempo was high from the very first rallies. Deep clears to the backcourt, delicate net drops, continuous cross-court manoeuvres, and sudden, powerful smashes kept the badminton matches at the 2026 Southern Region Vinachem Employee Sports Festival intense throughout.

With 70 athletes from 10 units competing across seven events, badminton had the most categories at this year's festival. In singles, speed, movement, and shot-making in drawn-out exchanges were key. In doubles, well-placed shots, dynamic switching between attack and defence, and seamless teamwork helped secure decisive points.

Many matches were decided by the final points—just one mistake or a perfectly timed smash could change the outcome. The audience witnessed thrilling score chases, determined saves, and an electric atmosphere on every court.
