On the morning of June 1, 2026, as part of its working trip to the Philippines, a delegation from the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council, laid flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his memorial in the ASEAN Garden on Muralla Street, Intramuros, Manila.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegation placed flowers at the foot of the statue, expressing deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh – the great leader of the Vietnamese people, national liberation hero, world cultural icon, who devoted his life to the cause of national independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people, and made significant contributions to peace, progress, and solidarity among nations around the world.

In front of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, members of the delegation observed a moment of silence in remembrance of his immense contributions to the Vietnamese revolution. This was also an opportunity for every Vinachem official and employee to continue learning from and following the example of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style; to promote responsibility, solidarity, and innovative spirit, contributing to the sustainable development of the Group.

The statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the ASEAN Garden, within the historic Intramuros area, was inaugurated in October 2011 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Philippines diplomatic relations. This work carries significant historical, cultural, and diplomatic meaning, serving as a vivid symbol of the good friendship and cooperation between the two countries, as well as the spirit of solidarity in the ASEAN community.

The statue, designed in a simple yet dignified style, reflects the noble and approachable image of the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people. Surrounding the statue is the green space of the ASEAN Garden – a place honoring solidarity, friendship, and cooperation among Southeast Asian nations. The monument not only holds artistic value but also embodies deep symbolic meaning for peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

For more than a decade, the statue has become a meaningful cultural and historical landmark for the Vietnamese community in the Philippines as well as for international friends. It is not only a place to honor President Ho Chi Minh but also stands as a symbol of Vietnam-Philippines friendship, contributing to promoting the image of a peace-loving, friendly, and actively integrating Vietnam, while supporting the development of the ASEAN community and the wider international community.

The Vinachem delegation’s flower-laying ceremony is a meaningful activity, expressing deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh, while also helping to cultivate and further strengthen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Philippines in the new era.
