Vinachem Engages with Indian Enterprises Ahead of the Vietnam – India Business Forum
Translated by Phương Thảo08:54 AM @ Thursday - 07 May, 2026
As part of the official visit to India by General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, the Vietnam – India Business Forum, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in coordination with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will take place on May 7, 2026, in India.
On the eve of the Forum, on May 6, 2026, in New Delhi, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Tú, General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), held meetings with several major Indian companies in the fields of fertilizers, agricultural chemicals, and green energy, including Indian Potash Limited, Future Chem Agro Pvt. Ltd., Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), and ACME Group.

Participants from Vinachem included Mr. Nguyễn Văn Dũng, General Director of Ha Bac Fertilizer and Chemical JSC (HANICHEMCO); Mr. Đỗ Văn Tuấn, General Director of The Southern Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (SFJC); and representatives of several specialized departments. On the Vietnamese side, Mr. Bùi Trung Thưởng – Commercial Counsellor, together with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in India, attended and supported connections and market information provision.

With Indian Potash Limited (IPL)—a company with annual revenue exceeding USD 3 billion and a major fertilizer importer and distributor in India—the two sides discussed the potential for commercial cooperation in products such as MOP/Potash, DAP, NPK, SOP, Polyhalite, potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate, SSP/TSP, and specialized fertilizers. Notably, Indian Potash Limited is one of only three companies licensed by the Indian government to import urea, underscoring its special role in the national fertilizer supply chain. IPL is considered a suitable market partner, distribution hub, and a reference supply channel in the region. Both sides also considered the possibility of introducing Vinachem’s fertilizer and chemical products into the Indian market through IPL’s network, collaborating on technical exchanges, balanced fertilizer demonstration models, and linking phosphate raw material supply chains.

With Future Chem Agro—a company active in agricultural chemicals, pesticides, and environmentally friendly agricultural solutions—the discussions focused on commercial and technical cooperation in the fields of pesticides, biological products, growth regulators, and specialized fertilizers. Future Chem Agro is also one of three companies licensed by the Indian government to import urea, demonstrating its capacity and special position in India’s agricultural and fertilizer ecosystem. This direction could align with Vinachem’s Agriculture Program through demonstration activities, technical consulting, and dealer network connections.

With IFFCO—the leading fertilizer cooperative in India with a network of over 36,000 cooperatives and access to more than 55 million farmers—the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on combined models of production, commerce, distribution, and technical services linked to farmers. Potential cooperation areas include traditional fertilizers, specialized fertilizers, organic–bio–micronutrient fertilizers, distribution models via cooperatives, organization of seminars, product trials, demonstrations, and expert exchanges. These are valuable experiences for implementing Vinachem's Agriculture Program.

Notably, in the meeting with ACME Group—a pioneer in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and green ammonia—General Director Nguyễn Hữu Tú took time to study the partner’s large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS). This is a crucial technology solution that helps ACME optimize renewable energy sources, ensuring stable electricity for the electrolysis process in green hydrogen and green ammonia production. The two sides also discussed the trend of green chemicals, access to green ammonia and green hydrogen technologies for fertilizer and basic chemical production, contributing to emissions reduction. Vinachem's approach to integrating renewable energy, BESS, and green chemical production with ACME opens new directions for research into clean raw materials and modern technologies aiming at emissions reduction and sustainable development of Vietnam’s chemical industry.
Through these meetings, Indian partners highly appreciated the cooperation potential with Vinachem, especially as demand for fertilizers, agricultural chemicals, and the shift toward green production is rapidly increasing.

Speaking at the meetings, Vinachem General Director Nguyễn Hữu Tú emphasized: Vinachem identifies India not only as an important raw material supply market but also as a potential product consumption market and a strategic partner in technology and sustainable agricultural development models. Vinachem hopes that, through cooperation with India's leading enterprises, it will expand its market, diversify its supply sources, access farmer-oriented distribution models, environmentally friendly agricultural solutions, and green chemical technologies—towards sustainable development and emission reduction across the Group.
The meetings on May 6 were not only significant in connecting partners ahead of the Vietnam – India Business Forum, but also opened up specific and in-depth cooperation directions between Vinachem and leading Indian companies. This is an important premise for Vinachem to participate in the Forum on May 7 proactively, ready to promote practical cooperation programs and gradually establish India as a key market and strategic partner in the Group’s sustainable development process.
