Vinachem Delegation Visits China: Promoting Cooperation in Next-Generation Energy Storage Technologies
From March 16 to March 21, 2026, a delegation from the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), led by Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, President and CEO of the Group, conducted a working visit to the People’s Republic of China to meet with leading partners in the electrochemical sector. The visit aimed to promote cooperation in next-generation energy storage technologies, contributing to the realization of green transition goals and the assurance of national energy security.

The delegation also included Mr. Le Hoang, Deputy CEO of the Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southern Battery Joint Stock Company; Mr. Le Van Nam, CEO of Southern Battery Joint Stock Company; along with other representatives and officials from Vinachem and the Southern Battery Joint Stock Company.
The working trip focused on surveying advanced battery and energy storage manufacturing complexes, exchanging experiences in emerging technologies, research and development (R&D) capabilities, large-scale project implementation models, and new product lines to meet increasingly demanding customer requirements.

Based on the outcomes of the visit, Vinachem will continue to update technological trends and strengthen its capacity to master core technologies, thereby supporting the green transition agenda and contributing to national energy security. This also aligns with the goal of building a strong state-owned economic group in accordance with the Party and State’s orientations, particularly Politburo Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW on ensuring national energy security to 2030 with a vision to 2045, and Resolution No. 79-NQ/TW on the development of the state-owned economy.

During the meetings, President and CEO Nguyen Huu Tu emphasized that, in the context of intensifying technological competition, proactively accessing, acquiring, and gradually mastering core technologies in batteries and energy storage systems is not only economically significant but also strategically important for the Group’s long-term sustainable development. He also proposed several potential directions for future cooperation.
Accordingly, the Group’s leadership has directed its functional departments and member units to focus on enhancing research, development, and technological mastery capabilities, considering this a critical foundation for implementing Vinachem’s long-term green growth strategy. The electrochemical sector is expected to become a key driver in achieving double-digit growth during the 2026–2030 period and beyond. The CEO also stressed the need to promptly develop a roadmap to ensure that new products contribute to the revenue and profit of Southern Battery Joint Stock Company as early as 2026.

Alongside expanding international cooperation, Vinachem plans to prioritize resources for establishing an R&D Center as a hub of innovation, contributing to: reinforcing the Group’s leading role in Vietnam’s chemical industry; developing high-tech products to enhance added value and competitiveness; and laying the foundation for achieving double-digit growth targets for 2026–2030 in line with the orientations of the Party, the Government, and the Ministry of Finance.
The visit yielded many positive outcomes, opening up practical cooperation opportunities in energy storage technologies. It also reaffirmed Vinachem’s strong commitment to pioneering technological innovation, promoting green transformation, and contributing to national energy security, thereby supporting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s chemical industry in the new phase.
