On the morning of May 30, as part of the working trip to attend the Vietnam – Singapore Technology Connection Forum, a delegation from the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Members’ Council, visited and laid flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his memorial located within the grounds of the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore.

In a solemn atmosphere, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp and members of the delegation respectfully offered flowers, expressing their profound gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh – the great leader of the Vietnamese people, national liberation hero, world cultural icon, who devoted his entire life to the struggle for national independence and the building of the country.

Located by the Singapore River, the Asian Civilisations Museum is one of the nation’s most renowned museums, reflecting the exchange and connection between Asian cultures and between Asia and the world. Within the museum’s grounds, in May 2008, on the occasion of the 118th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 35th anniversary of Vietnam – Singapore diplomatic relations, the Singapore National Heritage Board inaugurated the memorial plaque for President Ho Chi Minh.

In September 2011, following the initiative of Singaporean friends who love Vietnam, with the cooperation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, a statue of President Ho Chi Minh was installed beside the memorial plaque. This is a project of special significance, demonstrating the respect of the Singaporean people for President Ho Chi Minh and serving as a vivid symbol of the ever-growing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.

Within the spacious grounds of the Asian Civilisations Museum, the statue of President Ho Chi Minh stands alongside those of many prominent Asian leaders and cultural figures, reflecting international recognition of his immense contributions to national liberation, peace, and social progress.

The tribute of laying flowers to President Ho Chi Minh by the Vinachem delegation not only expresses deep respect and gratitude to the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, but also contributes to educating tradition, fostering national pride, and strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore as the two countries vigorously promote their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
