Vinachem Connects with Cape Town Business Community, Expands Cooperation Space in South Africa
As part of its business trip in South Africa, on June 23, 2026, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) attended a networking event with the Cape Town business community at Cape Town City Hall. The event, organized by Accelerate Cape Town, brought together city government representatives and leading businesses in the region, creating opportunities to connect, seek partners, and promote economic cooperation between businesses from both countries.

The Vinachem delegation was led by Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Chairman of the Members’ Council. Accompanying him were executives from Vinachem’s key member companies, including Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical JSC, DAP - Vinachem JSC, Southern Fertilizer JSC, Apatit Vietnam One Member Limited Company, LIX Detergent JSC, and Casumina (Southern Rubber Industry JSC). These companies represent Vinachem’s main production areas, from fertilizers and agricultural chemicals to consumer chemicals and technical rubber products.
On the South African side, Mr. Ryan Ravens – CEO of Accelerate Cape Town – attended with representatives from 26 businesses operating in industrial chemicals, agricultural materials, logistics, processing industries, packaging, freight forwarding, and international trade.

In his remarks, Mr. Ryan Ravens said that Accelerate Cape Town always encourages connections between local businesses and international partners. He highly appreciated the presence of the Vinachem delegation and viewed the event as an opportunity for both sides to understand each other's needs, capabilities, and potential areas of cooperation.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp thanked Cape Town authorities and Accelerate Cape Town for facilitating direct engagement between Vietnamese companies and the local business community.
He shared that Vinachem is a core enterprise in Vietnam’s chemical industry, active in fertilizers, basic chemicals, consumer chemicals, batteries, tires, technical rubber, and mining. In recent years, Vinachem has focused on technological innovation, digital transformation, sustainable development, and expanding international cooperation to enhance competitiveness and gradually integrate deeper into regional and global industrial value chains.
According to Mr. Phùng Quang Hiệp, Vinachem’s business networking activities in South Africa aim not only to expand markets but also to seek long-term cooperation in raw materials, logistics, technology, and supply chain development. These are critical factors in the group’s development strategy as Vinachem accelerates international integration and market diversification.
At the event, businesses from both sides discussed cooperative opportunities in mineral extraction and processing, supply of raw materials for fertilizer and chemical production, logistics, international trade, and modern agricultural solutions. Vinachem companies showed particular interest in collaborating on input materials, developing distribution systems, and expanding markets for fertilizers, consumer chemicals, and technical rubber products.
For South African businesses, this was also a chance to learn about Vinachem’s production capabilities, product portfolio, and development direction as Vietnam’s leading chemical group. Many direct exchanges centered on raw material needs, logistics services, distribution systems, international trade, and the potential for investment cooperation in the near future.

The Cape Town business networking event was not only a trade promotion activity during Vinachem’s South Africa mission but also a concrete step towards expanding its international partner network and strengthening connections with Africa’s dynamic economic centers.
Through direct exchanges with local businesses, Vinachem member units gained access to market information, sources of raw materials, logistics systems, and new regional development trends. This foundation enables the group to progressively expand international cooperation, diversify markets, and participate more deeply in global industrial, agricultural, and trade value chains.
