Vinachem Attends Steering Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Project 06

On the afternoon of 10 July, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Lê Mạnh Hùng—Head of the Steering Committee—chaired the Steering Committee Meeting on the development of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and Project 06.

The meeting was attended by Steering Committee members, leaders of departments, agencies, research institutes, universities, and representatives of state groups under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Representing the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) were Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Dũng—Deputy General Director—and leaders of the Technical Department.

According to the report presented at the meeting, after more than 1.5 years of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has completed 178 out of 287 assigned tasks, with none overdue. Institutional reform, digital transformation, database development, and the advancement of science and technology have all seen positive results. Notably, the Ministry has accelerated administrative procedure reform, enhanced the quality of online public services, developed specialised databases, and identified major challenges to promote innovation and raise the competitiveness of the industry and trade sector.

In his concluding remarks, Minister Lê Mạnh Hùng emphasised the need for a shift from a management mindset to a governance mindset, using output and practical effectiveness as key measures. He requested that units focus on reviewing bottlenecks, improving data systems and digital infrastructure, accelerating digital transformation and the development of science, technology, and innovation, while also developing detailed plans with specific objectives, outputs, and accountability for each unit.

Vinachem’s participation in the Steering Committee meeting demonstrates the Group’s proactive alignment with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s major directions on developing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Recently, Vinachem has actively implemented digital transformation tasks, promoted innovation in corporate governance and production, and gradually adopted digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and data into management activities. This has contributed to effective implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, moving towards building a modern, green, intelligent, and sustainable Group.

Going forward, Vinachem will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant units in implementing assigned programmes and tasks; promote research and application of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness and sustainable development of Vietnam’s chemical industry, as well as to the successful achievement of development objectives for the industry and trade sector in the new era.
