Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members’ Council inspects progress of technology upgrading and MAP Production Project at DAP – Vinachem
On July 6, at DAP – Vinachem JSC (Hai Phong), Comrade Phùng Quang Hiệp, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vietnam National Chemical Group (VINACHEM), conducted a direct inspection of the progress of the project "Deep Technology Investment, Improving Phosphoric Acid Quality, and MAP Fertilizer Production with a Capacity of 60,000 Tons/Year." The inspection aimed to assess project implementation, provide timely guidance to resolve difficulties, and encourage staff, workers, and construction teams to strive for on-time or early project completion.
In their report to the Chairman, representatives from DAP – Vinachem JSC and the contractor ECEC stated that all project components are being implemented synchronously, with overall progress closely monitored and on schedule. All parties are focusing manpower, equipment, and resources to accelerate construction and ensure milestones are met.
After the on-site inspection, Comrade Phùng Quang Hiệp acknowledged and praised the responsibility and initiative of the investor, contractor, and all staff and workers for their efforts in project implementation. The Chairman required all units to continue upholding their sense of responsibility, strengthen coordination during construction, ensure absolute occupational safety, project quality, and strict compliance with technical standards—emphasizing that deadlines must not come at the expense of quality.
The investor and contractor also committed to maximizing resources, striving to complete all project components as planned, and to put the MAP fertilizer production line into operation and introduce the new product as early as October 2026, ahead of the original projected schedule.
The project "Deep Technology Investment, Improving Phosphoric Acid Quality, and MAP Fertilizer Production with a Capacity of 60,000 Tons/Year" is one of VINACHEM's key projects aimed at implementing a deep-processing strategy and enhancing added value in the phosphate product chain. The investment not only improves phosphoric acid quality but also marks a transition from basic raw material production to higher technology and higher economic value products.
Once operational, the MAP production line will help DAP – Vinachem diversify its product portfolio, including commercial phosphoric acid, DAP 64% fertilizer, and MAP fertilizer, increasing its ability to meet domestic market demand and expanding export markets.
Notably, the project will lay the foundation for further deep processing of high-purity phosphate products to serve the electronics, semiconductor, and other high-tech industries in the future. This is an important step in the roadmap to develop the chemical sector towards modernization, greenness, and sustainability, in line with the development orientation of Vietnam National Chemical Group.
Bringing the project into operation ahead of schedule is expected to enhance business efficiency, improve profit margins, and boost the competitiveness of DAP – Vinachem in the fertilizer market, while affirming VINACHEM’s determination to invest in technological innovation, develop high value-added chemical products, ensure fertilizer supply for agriculture, and strengthen the competitiveness of Vietnam’s chemical industry in the new era.
